What If There Were No Wedding Blogs?

Where would your wedding inspiration come from if you were planning 40, 30 or 20 years ago?
Think about that for a moment.
Where would you find your wedding inspiration and support if wedding blogs and online resources didn't exist?

We recently ran across a truly wonderful post over at All Things Wedding that sheds some insight on how important wedding blogs and bridal websites have become in the wedding planning efforts for today's modern bride. It's absolutely amazing the amount of motivation, encouragement, comfort and advice that is given on a daily basis by the online wedding community. Their presence is admired, and truly appreciated.

Together, we can advance the wedding industry.

  1. I hadn't discovered wedding blogs until about a week ago! And I've been planning my wedding since August...

But it has been a pleasure - and the amount of inspiration is unbelievable! It's almost addictive, visiting all these sites... Oh well, it's time well spent. :)

  2. I discovered wedding blogs way too late in my planning process, and I truly believe if I had found them earlier, my wedding would have been very different. One of the reasons I started writing a blog was to help other brides find inspiration and also share some of my experiences! But SO true...I think I found my inspiration from wedding websites and magazines, but a lot of that stuff is old and repeated.

  3. For one, I don't think I could plan or survive the planning process of my wedding without the blogs! There is so much to-be-wed inspiration and support online, its hard to imagine what itd be like without it!! I'd be devestated! My blog would be null and void too ( It never would have existed if it weren't for the other amazing wedding blogs out there!!

    I'm thankful they DO exist!!

  4. Blogs are amazing as far as access to anything - we no longer have to have our information filtered through traditional media sources. We actually did a recent blog post about how blogs and social media have given us unprecedented access to disaster footage that we never have been able to see before, like of the earthquake in Eureka or the tsunami in Asia. It's really amazing!

  5. Wedding blogs are amazing. I love being able to share some of the industry secrets with new clients and friends through other blogs & my own. Being able to co-mingle so many creative ideas into one weddings is so much fun.
