In our quest to bring you EVERYTHING wedding, we present our blog readers a montage of Twinkie wedding cakes! Yep, we said Twinkies. These icons are one of America's best known and most loved snack cakes, and it seems they have been making an appearance on wedding reception tables for awhile now. Whether you love 'em or hate 'em, people are using them on their big day. Would you have a wedding cake made of Twinkies?
Just for fun, here are some fun Twinkie facts:
Twinkies were invented in 1930, at the beginning of the Great Depression.
There are 39 ingredients in a Twinkie.
The actual shelf life of a Twinkie is 25 days.
Twinkies originally had banana filling — the current vanilla comes from a banana shortage during World War II.
Over 500 million Twinkies are sold every year.
